    ■ Warm up by getting to know about cartoon.
Hello, class. Look at the picture. What is that? Right. It is a cartoon. What is a cartoon then?
A cartoon is a drawing in which features of the subject are exaggerated and stylized, usually in a humorous way. An animated movie, composed of many drawings, is also sometimes called a cartoon. Cartoons may depict humans, but many also depict animals, monsters, or non-living object given human-like characteristics, such as human emotions and the ability to speak.
    ■Listen and read.
On page 72 in the box is a conversation among Lingling, Daming, Mr. Jackson and Betty. They are talking about cartoons.
Before we listen to it, let's go on to read it first. While reading, try to: cut/ the sentence into thought groups, study the predicative, darken the connectives and underline all the useful expressions. (阅读过程中,断开/意群,观察谓语构成,圈出连词,摘录短语搭配。)
    Useful expressions (有用的短语搭配)
a cartoon story, imagine every drawing in the cartoon, have lots of jokes, no laughing matter, make …laugh, over there, have a word with…, get…on…, good news, go over, speak to…, in deep trouble, take a photo, see the flash, a smart idea, a happy ending
    ■ Find restrictive attributive clause with who, which and that.
Now go over the conversation again to find restrictive attributive clause with who, which and that
    1. This isn't one of those cartoons which make you laugh.
    2. We need someone who can save Tony ...
    3. I've got a camera which has got his name on it. It was upstairs.
    4. Well, it may not be very funny, but perhaps it'll be a cartoon which has a happy ending.
Now make sentences similar to the ones which you found just now.
    5. This isn't one of those stories which make you think hard.
    6. We need someone who can run faster than Tony ...
    7. I've got a book which has got his name on it. The book was good.
    8. Well, it may not be very interesting, but perhaps it'll be a film which has a sad ending.
    ■Talk as they do. (仿说)
Now in groups try to say something about Tony, his dictionary and films. You shall talk as they talked just now.
